Treating Young Arthritis Using Ceramic Hip Replacement

Dr. Narayan Hulse

HISTORY

A 26 year old medical technician suffered from a severe pain due to a condition called avascular necrosis of the hip. Avascular necrosis is the death of bone tissue due to lack of blood supply. His condition worsened due to weight gain.

DIAGNOSIS

To find the reason behind his hip joint pain he was screened using MRI. He was then suggested for the ceramic hip replacement surgery. Ceramic is high strength, scratch resistant, low-friction material that can minimize the wear and tear. The doctor performed ceramic on ceramic ball replacement surgery. Ceramic hip replacement is long lasting and is useful for people who are physically active.

POST OPERATIVE CARE

He recovered well and resumed his day to day activity.
